Capoeira kids is the latest addition to the LCC family – children are taught capoeira through music, dance and acrobatics. Stories are told through song and the children learn about a whole new culture without even realising it!

The benefits of capoeira for children; As well as taking part in physical activity, capoeira allows children to develop self-awareness and boosts confidence. They exercise - improve coordination, flexibility, and most importantly team work. Capoeira is a non-contact discipline and it teaches children about respecting each other.

Unlike other martial arts, the focus is not about knocking your partner over, but rather, working together to create something new.

CAPOEIRA
JUNIORS
AGES: 8 - 10
(YR3 - YR6)

Classes are 1 hour; children learn stretches, work in pairs on given sequences and also have the chance to listen to and learn to play the instruments of capoeira. They also learn folk-stories which are taught through song.

CAPOEIRA
MINI
AGES: 5 - 7
(RECEPTION - YR2)

Classes are 45 minutes; children learn simple capoeira movements through games, gentle stretching and flexibility with tumbling. Children also listen to capoeira music and learn simple songs.



THE INSTRUCTOR:
NOAM

Noam Afek, 26, learnt capoeira at the London Capoeira centre, and participated in workshops in Paris, Barcelona, Italy, Israel and Wales. She has been working with children since she was a teenager, volunteering and helping out in local schools, throughout her university life as well and is now a music teacher in 4 schools where she integrates musical elements from capoeira in her teaching.

Noam has a Martial Arts Instructor insurance which allows her to teach in all locations across the UK and has an enhanced CRB.
